Cadillac released the fifth-generation model of its full-size flagship SUV ESCALADE Escalade in February this year. The new car is not only equipped with the industry's first curved OLED display system and AKG car audio technology but also with an enhanced version of the Super Cruise super-intelligent driving system. A few days ago, AICC was informed that the new Escalade (standard axle version model) ushered in the domestic debut during the third China International Import Expo, which opened on November 5th.
The all-new Escalade follows the tradition of the Cadillac SUV family with both Sport and Luxury exterior design styles. The Luxury model features a shield grille with four horizontal chrome trim strips inside, and chrome trim strips at the ends of the lower grille, the C-pillar, and the roof rack. The sports version of the model uses a smoked mesh grille, and the lower grille ends and roof racks are also smoked, highlighting the sporty atmosphere. In addition, the top-of-the-line Platinum model will offer exclusive interior and exterior details.
The new Escalade carries forward Cadillac's signature in-line lighting elements, with the tall, vertical character continuing in the taillight design. The new car comes standard with 22-inch wheels and a new combination of a new adaptive air suspension combined with MRC electromagnetic suspension. The MRC electromagnetic suspension is the world's fastest-responding suspension technology, using sensors to continuously “read” the road and change the damping rate of vibrations almost immediately. It reacts faster than computer-controlled dampers, reducing vertical body movement, roll, and vibration.
The new air suspension provides automatic load balancing and ride height adjustment continuously on all four wheels. In highway driving, the system automatically lowers the ride height to improve aerodynamics. When parking, the suspension height can be lowered by 51mm to facilitate passenger entry and exit. In off-road conditions, there is also an option to raise the body for more ground clearance. The new vehicle is equipped with an electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD) that provides more precise traction and power distribution to the rear wheels. A continuously variable clutch module delivers torque to the wheels with maximum traction, improving the vehicle's performance around corners and on wet roads.
