Both models are equipped with an 84.3 kWh lithium-ion battery and support 205 kW fast charging.
The rear-wheel-drive variant has an EPA-estimated range of approximately 295 miles and starts at $67,800, while the all-wheel-drive variant has an EPA-estimated range of approximately 250 miles and has a starting price of 85,100 USD.
The interior features a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen integrated into the center console.
The car is equipped with the iDrive 8.5 infotainment system, touch-sensitive climate control buttons and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
The entertainment system supports using a smartphone as a controller and offers 20 games to play.
The car also supports CarPlay and Android Auto.
BMW has also confirmed a plug-in hybrid version will be added to the 5 Series range in 2024.
